Julie Wintrup

Higher Ed Teacher In Health Sciences

Here I will post provisional documents from my teaching, which are subject to revision, and useful links and resources.

I research the education of health professionals and forms of student engagement. Before becoming a full time academic I worked in community mental health, and I maintain a special interest in working with people to inform and transform care services.

Students interested in health and society cross traditional disciplinary boundaries, which is exciting and demanding in equal measure. My approach is to encourage critical reflection on interdisciplinary and partnership practices, plenty of structured reading and writing, and safe spaces for reflection, discussion and interactivity. Increasingly I am developing group and individual activities that can be engaged with anywhere there is an internet connection so that the time we have together in the classroom can be used productively and in more interesting ways.
